What's the best thing about your job?

Being able to help patients, whether this is finding the best visual correction for their needs and offering them spectacle options they were maybe not aware of, or treating and managing patient’s eye conditions. Often being the sole Optometrist in the practice, I enjoy getting to know my patients well and see them return year on year.

How long have you worked for Duncan and Todd Group?

I've worked for the group for 8 years.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself?

I have a scuba diving qualification.

How has your career progressed since working here? [such as learning new skills, transferring to a new role, training courses]?

I started working for Duncan and Todd as a pre-registration Optometrist in the Ellon and Inverurie branches. Since then, I have worked in various branches across the company, obtained a low vision course, worked within various shared care schemes and 2 years ago acquired my Independent prescribing qualification. I use an OCT on a regular basis at Duncan and Todd, helping to diagnose and manage various eye conditions

What do you like most about working for Duncan and Todd Group?

The staff at Duncan and Todd are exceptional, always friendly and whichever branch I go into, everyone is so welcoming, friendly and always ready to help each other out.

What's your top tip for Optometry?

Always keep learning, there are always new developments in Optometry!
