The Duncan and Todd Group are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant to join our Head Office team on a full time permanent basis.
Main Purpose of Role
To develop accurate and timely management accounts which reflect the financial position of the Company in order to support the financial planning and decision making of the Company.
Finance and Accounts
Develop and prepare monthly management accounts ensuring information is accurate and complete for retail; corporate and manufacturing.
Review monthly branch results and investigating any anomalies
Reconcile control accounts and nominal analysis including but not limited to: prepayments; accruals; salary control accounts, payment plan schemes; retail debtor accounts; provisions.
Prepare weekly/ monthly trends on debtors by branch and revenue stream
Analysis of audiology sales to ensure costs are correctly captured every month. Keeping track of credit notes due. Calculate VAT release on a monthly basis, ensuring compliance with all tax obligations. Prepare the quarterly VAT return, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
Eliminating intercompany sales
Calculate network costs for corporate sales to ensure correct accruals.
Assist with Year End files for auditing purposes on an annual basis, liaising with the auditors as necessary to deal with any queries or issues.
Create and maintain the Business Figures Database to produce the KPI Dashboard to provide managers and staff with information on performance against agreed targets.
Responsible for modelling of budgets.
Troubleshoot and resolve processing and other queries from the finance team and wider business to ensure issues are dealt with effectively and promptly.
Assist Group Finance Manager with ad hoc tests including month end reports
Proactively promote the policies, procedures, initiatives and disseminate important information relating to Company performance, finance issues etc. to the various areas of the business Undertake internal staff training on a regular basis to ensure that each member of the team has the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively perform their role and to provide cover for other staff as required.
Act as an ambassador for the Company at all times, leading by example to promote exceptional customer service, to both internal and external customers, at all times.
Maintain good working relationships with all other staff, both within the finance team and in the wider organisation. Assist the finance manager with other duties as required to assist in the effective running of the finance and accounts teams.
Beneficial to have month end experience

Required to be competent in excel and capable of manipulating data in excel
