We are delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Retail Branch Manager to join Duncan and Todd, working in Dundee . This is an exciting time to join Duncan and Todd as we create and shape the blueprint for our branches. The role on offer focuses on providing excellent customer care and therefore creating and managing a high performing team to achieve their maximum potential in sales growth and customer satisfaction is essential. Qualification to FBDO level would be advantageous but not essential. Industry experience could also be useful, including dispensing, but this is not mandatory. This role may be of interest to an Optometrist who has experience in leading and managing teams.
The role is full time working 37.5 hours over 5 days, between the hours of 8.30am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday. Flexibility is required around working hours and travelling between the branches to ensure business and customer needs are met.
The typical Retail Branch Manager duties will include:-
- Achieving sales targets, whilst delivering a great customer experience.
- Managing the performance of the team to achieve agreed KPI’s.
- Managing resources and creating demand to ensure alignment and high levels of productivity
- Training and development of staff, identifying skills gaps and actions to address
- Managing absence, ensuring appropriate steps are taken
- Ensuring effective communication within the branches
- Taking full responsibility for the success and day to day running of the practice including management of staff, stock and the premises.
- Assisting patients with queries relating to every aspect of wearing spectacles and contact lenses. Resolving queries with a desire to build and maintain good customer relationships.
- Motivating, driving and leading the team to deliver excellent patient care.
- Training, coaching and appraising the Practice Team, disseminating knowledge and ensuring a solid succession plan is in place and that internal promotion is actively encouraged.
- Making recommendations to and advising patients on spectacle lens and spectacle frame options following their eye test with the resident Optometrist.
- Working in cooperation with Head Office Departments to ensure that professional & clinical standards are maintained at all times.
- Being a point of contact for patients in the practice, leading by example at all times.
- Managing the practice appointment diary giving consideration to patient appointment requests and staff availability.
- Administration and maintenance of patient records, databases and NHS paperwork.
- Other ad-hoc duties as and when required
