Browns Opticians

I've been coming to Browns for many years now and I don't see myself changing anytime soon. The service is always great and the staff there are very helpful and nice.

I went in, had my glasses fixed and had a lovely conversation!

A friendly and thorough eye-test with explanations about the various tests that make up the overall test. No pressure to buy glasses either though would be recommended if test results suggested they'd be needed. Overall a good personal experience and would highly recommend.

I was told I was “a waste of NHS money” by Ewan Reid when I came for an eye check after 18 months instead of 24 months (having done my previous check in England privately). I had good reasons given family eye health issues and a driving test coming up. You just cannot tell patients that they are a waste of NHS money. Absolutely avoid.

Excellent service, highly recommended. Yes you can find cheaper options online but the tailored expertise and friendliness of staff within a long established community optician is well worth it. One shouldn't be lax when it comes to our vision and eye health, hence why I've been coming here for over 25 years.
