2020 Opticians

We are in Edinburgh on vacation from Canada and had a glasses mishap where the screw came out and arm fell off a pair of glasses. We walked in to the 348 Gorgie Rd. location and were promptly and warmly greeted by Kyle. He took a quick look at the glasses and reassured us that it was fixable. He took his time and completed the repair and then cleaned them so well that I don't think they were that clean new! Cameron spoke to us before we left and thanked us, inviting us back for any needs while we are in Edinburgh. A very positive experience with very professional staff, I would highly recommend this business for any glasses needs based on the skills and excellent customer service Kyle provided!

Everything went well! Taken on time, Eve gave me a thorough examination whilst making me at ease and taking time to explain/answer my questions. James was also excellent in helping me pick frames and the right lense for me. Great selection of frames for the style & colours I was looking for. I would return to your branch and recommend to others. Fingers crossed my glasses are ready in 9 days and I will sport my new transitions on holiday!

Having been a customer for some time now this was definitely not the best experience. Eye test went well and I paid in full for new lenses. 3 weeks later I'd heard nothing so phoned to check on progress. They checked and said they hadn't come in yet, which was surprising as they were expected in 2 weeks. They said they'd phone the lab and get back to me. When they phoned back they said the lenses had been sent by the lab and were sitting in the shop awaiting collection but they hadn't notified me. Presumably if I hadn't contacted them in the first place they'd still be sitting there! To compound matters, when I collected my lenses, I asked for my new prescription for my own records(which I should have been given after the eye test anyway). When I got home I discovered that the prescription they had given me was not mine!! Definitely not their best effort.

I was given a very professional eye test, with each process being well explained beforehand, and an easy to understand assessment of the state of my eyes given at the end. The optician had a relaxed but professional manner throughout and was friendly and easy to talk to.
