Duncan and Todd Group, Scotland’s leading independent optical and hearing care specialists, has appointed Mat Norris as its new Group CEO. This strategic move is part of the company’s commitment to driving growth and excellence in eye and hearing care services.
Frances Rus, the outgoing CEO, will transition to Non-Executive Director, continuing to serve on the Board of Directors and remaining a significant shareholder in Duncan and Todd.
Under Frances Rus's visionary guidance, the Duncan and Todd Group has experienced significant growth, expanding its footprint across Scotland and investing in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. Frances has played a pivotal role in steering the group through these transformative changes, demonstrating unwavering commitment to the company's success.
Mat Norris brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Formerly the CEO of Aqualisa, the UK’s leading smart and digital shower designer and manufacturer, Mat’s background in technical consumer products is complemented by leadership roles at Titon and directorial positions at Jim Lawrence Lighting, Johnson Matthey, and Philips.
Earlier this year Mat had the opportunity to collaborate with the Group during the relocation of its lens manufacturing arm Caledonian Optical into the new, state-of-the-art optical manufacturing facility in Dyce, Aberdeen.
During this time Mat was impressed by the team’s dedication and passion as well as the Group’s visionary plans for future growth.
