Customer Assistant - Overgate Pod, Dundee

Duncan & Todd Group is one of the leading optical and hearing care providers based in Scotland. In operation for over 50 years, our brands include: Duncan and Todd, 2020, Douglas Dickie, JM Macdonald, James Hughes, Browns, IC Andrew, and Smart Employee Eyecare.

We are currently recruiting for a Customer Assistant to join our Duncan & Todd Opticians & Hearing Care Pod in the Overgate in Dundee. This role is a Fixed Term contract until end of December initially - there may be the opportunity for this to be extended further. Hours would be 4 days per week on a rota basis and would include Saturday working.

Our Customer Assistant would be the first point of contact for the patients and customers visiting the pod.

Key Responsibilities:

• Simple adjustments and repairs
• Providing information on Duncan & Todd Services
• Assistance with booking appointments
• Sales of Duncan & Todd products
• Attracting new customers and signposting them to Duncan & Todd Branches and services

Candidate Profile:

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Experience within an optical environment would be advantage but full training would be provided.
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Required Work Experience

• Experience within a customer facing role – ideally in an optical environment.
